Tungsten steel conductive block is a passive device that stores energy in the form of electric field. When needed, the tungsten steel conductive block can release the stored energy to the circuit. The tungsten steel conductive block is composed of two conductive parallel plates, and insulating substances or dielectric substances are filled between the plates. When the tungsten steel conductive block is connected to a circuit whose power source is direct current (DC), under certain circumstances, two processes will occur, namely "charging" and "discharging" of the conductive block.

Since the charging process of the tungsten steel conductive block is completed, there is no current flowing through the conductive block, so in the DC circuit, the conductive block can be equivalent to an open circuit or R = ∞, and the voltage vc on the conductive block cannot be abruptly changed.

Tungsten steel conductive blocks exist in almost all electronic circuits, and it can be used as a "fast battery". For example, in the flash of a camera, the tungsten steel conductive block is used as an energy storage element to rapidly release energy at the moment of flash.
