From May 10th to 13th, the 2016 International Thermal Spray Co. The International Thermal Spray Conference and Exposition (ITSC2016) was successfully held in Shanghai. More than 400 experts, scholars and representatives of well-known manufacturers in the field of international thermal spraying from more than 30 countries and regions including China, the United States, Germany, Canada, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, and India attended the meeting.

The theme of this conference is "thermal spraying promotes global sustainable development", focusing on thermal spraying, cold spraying and other fields, including wear-resistant coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, thermal barrier coatings, biological coatings and other special functions Preparation and characterization of coatings, as well as the application of numerical simulation methods in coating research. The conference set up plasma spraying and coating technology for gas turbines, cold spraying, liquid material spraying, arc and laser cladding, supersonic flame spraying, wear protection, marine corrosion protection, powder manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry, amorphous coating, Characterization and testing methods, modeling and simulation, process and diagnostics, and other thematic chapters, is an international thermal spraying event with wide coverage and unprecedented scale. A total of more than 300 conference papers were received, including more than 190 branch reports and more than 110 posters. Shanghai Institute of Ceramics submitted 16 conference papers, of which 6 staff and 5 graduate students were invited to give oral presentations.

The meeting was announced by R. Boecking, Executive President of DVS. Researcher Huang Xiaoou, Chairman of TSCC, delivered a welcome speech. Researcher Tao Shunyan of the Key Laboratory of Special Inorganic Coatings of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to give a speech entitled "Advances in plasma sprayed ceramic coatings at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy The keynote report of the conference of "of Sciences" systematically introduced the application basis and engineering application research progress of thermal spray wear-resistant coatings, thermal barrier coatings, and biological coatings at Shanghai Silicate.

The conference was accompanied by the International Thermal Spray Exhibition, with more than 100 booths and about 60 exhibitors, including Switzerland's Oerlikon Metco, Canada's Northwest Mettech, Germany's H.C. Starck, American Praxair and France's Saint Gobain The company and many other well-known international thermal spraying companies participated in the exhibition, exhibiting the latest thermal spraying process equipment and coating characterization instruments and software in the world, which aroused great interest of the participants. During the three-day exhibition period, more than 800 people visited the exhibition. As one of the exhibitors, Shanghai Silicate Institute displayed research results in special inorganic thermal control coatings, wear-resistant and anti-corrosion coatings, thermal barrier coatings and biological coatings, which attracted the attention of the participants.

In order to commend Academician Ding Chuanxian of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics for his outstanding contributions in the field of thermal spraying, after being recommended and selected by ASM thermal spraying experts, Academician Ding Chuanxian was successfully selected into the ASM Thermal Spray Hall of Fame, becoming the first person in my country to receive this award. Honorary Scholar.

In addition, the conference paper titled "Microstructure and thermal properties of atmospheric plasma sprayed Yb2Si2O7 Coatings" submitted by Zhong Xin, a doctoral student in the plasma spraying research group of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, was awarded as "ITSC 2016 Best Paper", and was awarded by the organizing committee of the conference will be rewarded.

After the meeting, some participants went to Jiading Park of Shanghai Institute of Silicate to visit, visited the plasma spraying laboratory, and conducted academic and technical exchanges.

Economic globalization has promoted and driven the rapid development of high-end manufacturing. As a representative technology of additive manufacturing, thermal spraying technology has been successfully applied in aerospace, shipbuilding, energy, machinery, petrochemical, transportation, electronic information and other fields. The International Thermal Spray Conference is held once a year and alternately held in Europe, North America and Asia. Previously, my country successfully hosted ITSC2007 in Beijing. The conference, hosted by Shanghai Silicate Institute on behalf of China, not only provided an excellent communication platform for the international thermal spraying industry, but also built a bridge for communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign related units, and also enhanced the Shanghai Silicate Institute. Influence in the international thermal spray field.
