On March 13th, MC10 is a technology company famous for producing wearable electronic products. They mainly provide various high-tech equipment for athletes. However, the company has also ventured into the healthcare space, developing a medical diagnostic sticker called biostamp. More recently, the device's inventor, John Rogers (and co-founder of the MC10), redesigned it so that it's no longer an elastomeric sticker, but can be applied directly to the skin. By spraying the dressing material commercially, the new biostamp can appear directly on human skin and achieve its own function.

In order to remove the elastomeric material on the biostamp's original back and apply the circuit device directly to the skin, Rogers and his team at the University of Illinois succeeded in reducing the biostamp's thickness to one-thirtieth of its original thickness. In this way, this health monitoring device can better adapt to human skin and achieve waterproof function. It is reported that after spraying on the skin, the new biostamp can only be used for two weeks, after which it will naturally fall off.

Biostamps are health monitoring devices composed of mesh circuits and sensors that record electrophysiological data (such as epidermal temperature, wearer's hydration status). The new biostamp won't be on the market anytime soon, as Rogers and the R&D team are still optimizing the wireless power and communications technology. Once the above issues are resolved, the MC10 is likely to commercialize it and make it appear every day in our lives.
