Quality index of PDC DRILL

       Diamond drill quality indicators are mainly hardness, wear resistance, impact toughness, flexural strength and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the carcass, in addition, there are the carcass density, the thermal properties of the carcass and parcel diamond inlay capabilities. The carcass density actually indirectly reflects the hardness and wear resistance of the carcass; the thermal properties of the carcass are related to its linear expansion coefficient; while the index of the diamond-encased diamond capability, although important, is difficult to detect with instruments. Among these carcass performance indexes, hardness and wear resistance are the most important indicators, which are related to the bit's adaptability to rock and drilling efficiency. The carcass performance of hot pressed diamond bits is mainly determined by the carcass material and the hot pressing process, of which the former is the major aspect of conflict. Deep drilling on the diamond drill diamond core carcass basic performance requirements are as follows:

(1) Sufficient compressive, impact strength and hardness, and the hardness of the carcass should be adapted to the rock being drilled;

(2) The diamond has good wettability, can diamond solid bag inlay, at the same time has a certain chemical stability, does not react with the diamond at high temperatures;

(3) lower melting point, the thermal corrosion of diamond is small;

(4) The coefficient of linear expansion of the carcass is as close as possible to the diamond to reduce the stress effect of the diamond;

(5) easy to shape, and can be firmly welded with the drill body.

      Drill carcass performance to adapt to the nature of the rock drilled to ensure that the diamond can be timely out of the blade, which is impregnated diamond drill bit design and selection of the basic points. According to the characteristics of deep drilling, pre-alloyed powder can be used as the carcass material, which is due to the pre-alloyed powder than the mechanical mixing powder evenly distributed to fundamentally avoid the segregation of components, so that the carcass uniform, the performance tends to be consistent; pre-alloy Powder alloying, so that the carcass with high hardness and impact strength, can greatly improve the bit pressure, bending strength, enhance the package of diamond-encrusted ability to improve the life of diamond bits.
