       The commonly used cemented carbide is divided into the following categories according to whether other carbides are added by BAI or not, with WC as the main component:

(1) Tungsten cobalt (WC+Co) cemented carbide (YG)

It is composed of WC and Co, with high flexural strength of toughness, good thermal conductivity, but poor heat resistance and wear resistance, mainly used for processing cast iron and non-ferrous metals.Fine grain YG cemented carbide (such as YG3X, YG6X), with the same cobalt content, has higher hardness and wear resistance than YG3 and YG6, with slightly lower strength and toughness. It is suitable for processing hard cast iron, austenitic stainless steel, heat-resistant alloy, hard bronze, etc..

(2) WC+TiC+Co cemented carbide (YT)

TiC has higher hardness and melting point than WC, so compared with YG, its hardness, wear resistance and red hardness increase, high bonding temperature and strong oxidation resistance. Moreover, TiO 2 will be generated at high temperature, which can reduce bonding.But the thermal conductivity is poor, low bending strength, so it is suitable for processing steel and other ductile materials.

(3) Tungsten tantalum-Cobalt (WC+TaC+Co) Cemented carbide (YA)

TaC(NbC) is added on the basis of YG class hard alloy, which improves the hardness and strength, thermal impact resistance and wear resistance at room temperature and high temperature. It can be used in the processing of cast iron and stainless steel.

(4) WC+TiC+TaC+Co) Cemented carbide (YW)

TaC(NbC) was added to YT type cemented carbide to improve the bending strength, impact toughness, high temperature hardness, antioxidant capacity and wear resistance.It can process steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metal.Therefore, it is often called universal cemented carbide (also known as universal cemented carbide).At present, it is mainly used to process refractory steel, high manganese steel, stainless steel and other difficult materials.
