Application of thermal spraying technology

       

(1) Spray corrosion-resistant coating. Thermal spraying technology can be used to spray protective coatings that are resistant to corrosion by various media. However, the electrode potential of metal coatings such as stainless steel, nickel alloy, Monel alloy, and bronze is higher than that of steel, so it is easy to produce electrochemical corrosion in the pores of the coating. Only used for mechanical parts such as pistons and piston rods of plunger pumps, hydraulic cylinders, ship stern shafts, valves, etc., and must be sealed.

(2) Spray wear-resistant coating. Thermal spraying technology has been successfully applied to spray wear-resistant coatings on the surface of mechanical parts to extend the service life of parts or repair mechanical parts that have failed. For example, various iron-based or nickel-based wear-resistant alloy coatings are sprayed on the sliding wear parts of the steam turbine rotor, seal journal, piston ring, etc.

(3) Spray high temperature resistant coating. Thermal spray technology can also be used to improve the high temperature oxidation resistance of mechanical parts. Supersonic flame spraying. Cr2C3-NiCr coating is a very good wear-resistant coating below 900°C. It is the main high-temperature protective coating for the bottom of continuous annealing furnaces in the metallurgical industry.

(4) Spray functional coating. Thermal spraying technology can be widely used in the electrical industry, such as spraying shielding coatings to eliminate the interference of electromagnetic waves and radio waves, and to remove electrostatic discharge sparks; arc spraying of zinc coatings can improve the attenuation of high energy levels.

(5) Spray molding. The use of thermal spraying to manufacture mechanical parts is a special manufacturing technology that has developed rapidly in recent years. Such as the use of arc spraying to manufacture stamping plastic and leather product molds, plasma spraying ceramic or refractory metal nozzles, etc.
