Cemented carbide rods are cemented carbide round rods, also called tungsten steel rods, which are simply tungsten steel round rods or cemented carbide round rods. Cemented carbide is a composite material composed of refractory metal compounds (hard phase) and binder metal (bonding phase) produced by powder metallurgy. Cemented carbide is also called tungsten steel, which is relatively different from the local name.
There are two molding methods for the production of cemented carbide round bars: one is extrusion molding, which is a suitable way to produce long rods. It can be cut to any length desired by the user during the extrusion process. However, the overall length cannot exceed 350mm. The other is compression molding, which is a suitable way to produce short bars. As the name suggests, the cemented carbide powder is pressed into a shape with a mold.
