       For metal 3D printing, after the metal is remelted during the printing process, the elements exist in gaseous form, which may generate defects such as air holes locally, which affects the compactness and mechanical properties of the workpiece. Therefore, for metal powders of different systems, the oxygen content is an important indicator. The industry generally requires this indicator to be below 1500ppm, that is, the mass percentage of oxygen in the metal is between 0.13 and 0.15%. In special applications such as aerospace, customers have stricter requirements on this indicator. Some customers also require the control of the nitrogen content index, which is generally required to be below 500ppm, that is, the mass percentage of nitrogen in the metal is below 0.05%.



2, particle size distribution: the statistical data of the volume percentage of metal powder particles of different sizes in a certain size interval, this data is in a normal distribution.




Take the above figure as an example. In the result of the metal powder particle size distribution, d(10)=17.290μm, which means that the proportion of powder with a size smaller than 17.290μm is not less than 10%. It can be seen that in the powder, the proportion of powders with a size of less than 33.478μm is not less than 50%, and the proportion of powders with a size of less than 57.663μm is not less than 90%.
